We absolutely love designing Beauceron merch and items for our wonderful members and Beauceron friends! To help alleviate frustration for both purchasers and our hardworking volunteers, we’d like to share a few important housekeeping notes about how our merchandise process works.
What Does “Pre-Order” Mean?
All merchandise and items are typically available for a set period of time as PRE-ORDERS. This means:
- All items purchased during the pre-order window are ordered from our vendors after the window has closed.
- These are custom-designed, made-to-order items, which take time to produce.
- Once production is complete, items are shipped to one of our volunteers.
- Finally, they are carefully packaged and mailed to you.
Example Timeline
If pre-orders are open from March 1st – March 31st:
- Even if you place your order on March 1st, the full order will not be submitted to the vendor until April 1st. After the pre-order window has officially closed.
Why We Use a Pre-Order System
There are several important benefits to this process:
- Bulk Discounts. Many vendors offer larger discounts based on the total quantity ordered. This allows the club to either increase fundraising profits or offer better pricing to our members.
- No Excess Inventory. Pre-orders prevent the club from purchasing unsold items. This ensures we do not waste club funds — especially when it comes to size-specific apparel.
- Equal Opportunity to Order. A set pre-order window gives everyone plenty of time to review items and place an order.
A Friendly Reminder
While we do not submit the final order until the pre-order window closes, early orders are still very helpful. Early purchases allow us to:
- Communicate with the vendor in advance
- Confirm availability and production timelines
- Process the final order more quickly once the window closes
We kindly ask that members avoid waiting until the very last minute whenever possible as well as keeping in mind that we are all human. Our volunteers are offering their precious time to benefit you, the club, and the breed. When mistakes are made, please be gracious and understand that we want to help make sure you’re happy!
